Our Company

Founded in 1980, Waterloo Container is a family-owned business proudly serving the wine and beverage industries for 45 years. Established to support the emerging Finger Lakes wine industry and East Coast producers, the company has grown alongside its customers into a leading packaging supplier and is the largest family-owned and operated stocking distributor in the Northeastern United States and Northeastern Canada for wine bottles.

From the very beginning, co-founder Bill Lutz played a key role in supporting early New York wineries during the industry’s formative years in the 1980s.

I'll be honest, some wineries are great at planning and scheduling their bottling runs for the year - we are not one of them. Whether I am ordering weeks in advance or sometimes days or even a day in advance the team at Waterloo always does whatever it can to meet my needs with delivery timing and making me feel like its in the best of hands. Even last second issues are managed with a heightened sense of urgency, last year on bottling day I realized at the last second before we started that I ordered the wrong color glass - totally my fault - rather than having to shut it all down and change plans, the Waterloo team quickly made the bottles available for me to pick up and accepted a return of the wrongly placed order. They saved the day - we were still able to bottle thanks to their help and flexibility. We obviously have choices in where to get our bottling supplies - but for us we don't just look at it as a bottle, it feels like a real partnership.
